A Dehydrated Coyote Pup Dies After Being Saved by Firemen in California

SAN FRANCISCO — California firemen saved a dehydrated coyote pup on Thursday, but it died the next day.

From what Colleen Crowley of the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA said, the fox was about 6 weeks old.

Social media posts from July 4 show a big-eared dog being bundled up and given food at a fire station in San Mateo County.

The fox was found in a part of the county that isn’t part of any city or town, just south of San Francisco.

“This puppy was running around with his mom,” said Cal Fire CZU firefighters. “But this time, mom wasn’t to be seen.” “The little animal looked lost and was stumbling around,” the post with the pictures said.

They gave the puppy water and chicken until the Humane Society could pick up the small coyote, which was hungry and thirsty.

Crowley said the puppy’s eyes were almost closed.
