Arkansas’s FAYETTEVILLE According to court filings, a Fayetteville woman was taken into custody after police removed twenty dogs from a home last month.
On July 2, Vikki Davidson, 36, was taken into custody on 24 charges related to animal abuse.
A preliminary report states that on June 20, Elkins police were called to a residence in Fayetteville regarding a reported dog bite. Police discovered that a dog had bitten a child’s finger when they arrived on the scene.
24 dogs—11 of them were newborn puppies—were found by EPD to be malnourished and to have insufficient water in their homes.
According to the investigation, the house was disconnected by the city a month prior and didn’t have any water.
Following their seizure, two dogs had to be put to death right away, and according to the report, one of the dogs had eaten a puppy.
Numerous other canines reportedly passed away before the police were contacted. A cooler held one, while some others—among which one was partially consumed—were discovered buried in the yard.
According to the report, there was a strong urine smell and dog poop all over the floors. Several cops had to leave after gagging once officials reached the premises.
The document also contained information on purported animal maltreatment.
It was stated that Davidson was hitting the dogs in the head with frying pans and “brass knuckles,” beating and abusing them. Additionally, the investigation claims that she booted the smaller dogs, possibly breaking their bones, which “healed incorrectly.”
Davidson has a July 22 court date scheduled and is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $10,000 bail.
