Morata snubs Gunners
Alvaro Morata is reportedly set to snub a move to Arsenal this summer.
The Spanish striker has just finished a two-year loan spell with Juventus from Atletico Madrid and currently appears up for grabs. The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham and Newcastle are understood to have expressed an interest in bringing the ex-Chelsea forward back to the Premier League this summer, but it appears the forward isn’t in favor of a return to England.
Juventus reportedly tabled Atletico an offer ‘at a reasonable price’, thought to be around £13million plus add-ons and a player in exchange. The Bianconeri are udnerstood to have offered up the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Denis Zakaria, and Moise Kean in a potential deal.
However, Atletico rebuffed Juventus’ attempts to sign the striker, declaring they would not open to negotiations unless their £30m valuation – a fee previously agreed between the two clubs – was met.
Should Juventus fail in their pursuit of Morata, they will reportedly look elsewhere for a new attacker. Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic and free agent Luis Suarez have both been linked.
