Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all battling for high-profile deals as the summer transfer window continues to heat up nicely as the new football season draws ever closer.
Chelsea look to have sensationally hijacked Arsenal’s move for Raphinha, with a fee in excess of £55m close to being agreed with Leeds for the Brazilian winger. The Gunners are also battling Manchester United for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez, though Gabriel Jesus’ switch from Manchester City should be officially announced today.
Chelsea want to sign three City players in Raheem Sterling, Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko, while they are also still pushing for Matthijs de Ligt amid reports over Jules Kounde, Milan Skriniar and Ousmane Dembele. Tottenham, meanwhile, are stepping up their pursuit of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon as talks continue with Everton, with Spurs said to be ready to clinch a huge deal for the pair worth £100m. The Blues are closing in on a £55m deal to sign Raphinha from Leeds after hijacking Arsenal’s move for the 25-year-old Brazil international.
Chelsea are confidant of sealing a deal that would see Raphinha triple his wages, which have not increased since he joined Leeds in 2020.

Takumi Minamino: Jurgen Klopp sends message after Monaco move
Takumi Minamino has completed his move to AS Monaco and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has paid tribute to him.
“It’s hard to see Taki go, but it’s a great move for him and one he thoroughly deserves,” he told the club’s website.
“An amazing professional; great, talented player. As a person, he is full of warmth and makes everyone feel positive. A manager’s dream, to be honest.
“I’m sure there will be those who think it didn’t quite work out. Those who think this are wrong. I don’t accept that.
“His contribution far outweighs the opportunities we were able to give, in terms of starting matches. He made us better each and every day he was with us – not just in the games he played in but every single session in training. Perfect attitude, winner’s mentality.
“His performances and his goals are the reason we have had to redecorate the Champions Wall so often. His achievements here will stand the test of time.
“I know he will be a big success at Monaco. I’m sure we will look on with a mix of celebration and envy as he progresses and flourishes there.
“He leaves with our appreciation and best wishes. Thank you, Taki.”
Chelsea inform Sevilla of desire to sign Jules Kounde
ABC Sevilla claim Chelsea have informed the Spanish club of their “firm intention” to sign Jules Kounde.
The French international has been almost constantly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the best part of a year now, having initially emerged on their radar during the summer of 2021.
Thought to remain a leading target, the Blues are reportedly ready to finally bring a deal to completion soon.
West Ham’s transfer dilemma
After completing their first signing of the summer earlier this month with the addition of defender Nayef Aguerd from Rennes, the message from West Ham was that as many as six more new arrivals were wanted by the time the window closes.
With that kind of lofty recruitment ambition, it helps that their next deal was something of a no-brainer.
On Monday, the Hammers confirmed the return of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, this time on a permanent transfer after the success of his season-long loan stint from Paris Saint-Germain last term.
The 29-year-old’s wages briefly threatened to complicate matters, but with Areola keen to settle in London – a city he loves – after a career punctuated by loan spells, and West Ham in possession of an option to buy, the Frenchman always looked likely to return.
